Lebanese Presidential Office: Hezbollah Has Committed to Cease Attacks on Israel

On June 1 local time, the Lebanese Presidential Office issued a latest statement. The statement confirmed that Hezbollah has committed to stopping its attacks on Israel. Previously, U.S. President Trump also announced this news.

The statement also revealed specific details of the negotiations. In this ceasefire mediation, Trump communicated with Hezbollah through Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and the U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon. All parties actively coordinated, ultimately facilitating this ceasefire consensus.

The Lebanese Embassy in the United States issued a statement on the 1st, saying that the Lebanese government received confirmation that Hezbollah has agreed to the mutual ceasefire proposal between the organization and Israel put forward by the U.S.

The statement said that this proposal is part of the Lebanese government's efforts to maintain domestic stability and avoid further escalation of the situation. Previously, Lebanese President Aoun had a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Rubio regarding related issues.

According to the proposal, Israel will refrain from airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, and in exchange, Hezbollah will stop launching attacks on Israel. The scope of the ceasefire arrangement will subsequently expand to the entire territory of Lebanon.
