Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, October 13 (Reporter Pang Xinyi, Wang Zhuolun) According to a report from Israel's Channel 12 on the 13th, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke with U.S. President Trump last week to discuss the possibility of restarting military action against Iran before the U.S. midterm elections in early November, or even before the Israeli parliamentary elections on October 27.

The report cited informed U.S. officials as saying that they believe Netanyahu "wants to launch an attack before the elections."

Trump has publicly stated that he will not strike Iran before the midterm elections. According to anonymous sources, both the Israel Defense Forces and the U.S. Central Command are on "high alert" and are completing preparations in case Trump "changes his mind."

However, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office denied that Netanyahu urged Trump to strike Iran before the elections, stating that Netanyahu is maintaining dialogue with Trump and senior officials in the U.S. government.

The report also cited a U.S. source as saying that Netanyahu and Trump have "discussed" the issue of resuming strikes against Iran "multiple times," with Trump telling Netanyahu he could "start preparing," but he did not formally commit to approving an attack. A senior Israeli official stated that Trump "initially seemed ready to approve, but then changed his mind." The report noted that the U.S. position on this issue "changes every few days."
