On the afternoon of October 10, Colonel Chen Xi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, released a statement regarding recent military-related issues.

Reporter: According to reports, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi recently delivered a policy speech at an extraordinary Diet session, stating that the security environment surrounding Japan is complex and severe, and that the "Three Security Documents" will be revised by the end of the year to fundamentally enhance defense capabilities. There are also reports that the Japanese government is considering including discussions on the introduction of nuclear-powered submarines in the revision of the "Three Security Documents." What is your comment on this?

Chen Xi: Japan is a defeated country from World War II and must fulfill its obligations as a defeated nation to eliminate militarism, destroy war capabilities, and prohibit rearmament. However, the Japanese ruling authorities are using the so-called "surrounding security threats" as an excuse to accelerate the process of "remilitarization," even attempting to break through the "Three Non-Nuclear Principles," seeking a gradual loosening of nuclear restrictions, and pushing security policies towards offensive, expansionist, and dangerous directions. This "new type of militarism" is mutating out of control and accelerating, becoming a prominent factor challenging the post-war international order, impacting the international non-proliferation system, and threatening regional peace and stability.

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Trials. The historical judgment is not yet over; Japan should deeply reflect on its war crimes, completely sever ties with militarism, and stop the dangerous actions of constitutional revision and military expansion, as well as attempts to acquire nuclear capabilities, otherwise it will only repeat past mistakes and have no future.
