Ministry of Defense: The 2026 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Pre-Conference Will Be Held in Beijing

On the afternoon of April 30, the Ministry of Defense held a regular press conference, where Colonel Zhang Xiaogang, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, answered questions from reporters.

Zhang Xiaogang: From May 7 to 9, the 2026 Beijing Xiangshan Forum Pre-Conference will be held in Beijing, inviting over 120 defense officials, experts, scholars, and media representatives from more than 30 countries and international organizations to attend. The conference will focus on the theme of "Global Security Governance: Challenges and Solutions," covering topics such as "International Order and the Rule of Law," "New Security Challenges in the Asia-Pacific," and "Risk Management of Military Applications of Emerging Technologies," and will include a special session on "The Role of International Forums in Global Security Governance - A Special Exchange for the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum."

The Beijing Xiangshan Forum Pre-Conference, as an important forward-looking activity of the main forum, is hosted by the China Military Science Society and the China International Strategy Society. It aims to build an open, inclusive, and equal international security dialogue platform, contributing wisdom to improve global security governance and promote the establishment of a more just and reasonable international order through multilateral discussions and in-depth dialogues.
