to commemorate the late

Jincheng Long, a retired university student from

at the age of just 26.

“We understand him”

During the memorial event on the Navy Dingzhou ship,

everyone expressed their condolences.

Jincheng Long had served in a unit of the Northern Theater Navy.

During his service,

he participated in eight major tasks at the theater level and above,

with a total of 8,400 hours at sea.

When the news of his sacrifice while saving others came,

his comrades, who had spent day and night together with him,

were plunged into deep sorrow.

Comrades recalled that

in early 2021,

Jincheng Long was assigned to the cooking team of the Dingzhou ship.

To ensure his comrades had good meals,

he devoted himself to improving the food quality.

Not long after boarding the ship,

he became a key member of the cooking team.

Jincheng Long also loved to “mind others’ business.”

When the medic was on leave,

he volunteered to take on extra duties,

using his university training in traditional Chinese medicine

to provide free therapy for his comrades.

When the clerical support was busy,

he would run around to help.

Every time supplies were moved,

even when it wasn’t his duty,

his figure could always be seen.

In Jincheng Long's diary, he wrote,

“No name, no profit, no regrets;

with feelings, with righteousness, with the motherland.”

Many were moved by this.

“He truly lived by this!”

After Jincheng Long's sacrifice while saving others,

his comrades said:

“We understand him; no matter how great the danger,

he would definitely rush forward.

This was his instinct.”

He always carried a first aid kit,

and he once said his dream was to be a battlefield doctor.

On January 23,

due to a lack of scheduled study tasks,

Jincheng Long joined a film crew as an extra.

At around 1:40 PM that day,

he heard the cries for help from a father and son who had fallen into the water.

Jincheng Long picked up a wooden stick and ran onto the ice,

determined to save them on the other side.

When he was only three or four meters away from the father and son,

Jincheng Long extended the stick towards them.

At that moment, the ice suddenly cracked,

and Jincheng Long fell into the icy river,

tragically losing his life.

Among Jincheng Long's personal belongings,

there was a first aid kit,

complete with bandages, acupuncture needles, and relevant documents.

Jincheng Long's mother, Ning Xiaoguang, recalled that

her son, as a retired soldier and medical student,

always kept a first aid kit on hand.

“One day, he encountered an elderly person who had a cardiac arrest,

but he forgot to bring his first aid kit that day.

The elderly person could not be saved,

and he cried for three days when he got home.”

During his service,

it was common for Jincheng Long to rise early and work late in the cooking team,

but he still found time to study every day before lights out.

Jincheng Long's father, Jin Hai, recalled that

his son once told him,

“Dad, I want to get into graduate school

and become a battlefield doctor.”

Two days before the tragedy,

he had just completed his last blood donation.

Jincheng Long was admitted to Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2019,

enlisted in the military in 2020,

and after retiring in 2022,

he returned to school to pursue a degree in clinical medicine combining traditional and Western medicine.

In 2023,

Jincheng Long joined the Liaoning Red Cross Rescue Team.

In 2024,

Jincheng Long donated blood samples for testing,

always ready to donate hematopoietic stem cells.

Jincheng Long had donated blood a total of 13 times, amounting to 4,000 milliliters.

Two days before his tragic death,

he had just completed his last blood donation.

At school,

when teachers and students were sorting through Jincheng Long's belongings,

they found a volunteer registration card for organ donation in China.

It is reported that

Jincheng Long had saved people multiple times.

When he was in high school,

a fire broke out near his home,

and he risked his life to rescue two people.

On September 23, 2023,

Jincheng Long assisted an elderly person who had fallen.

On February 6, 2024,

using his knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine,

he helped a traveler who suddenly experienced palpitations at Shenyang North Railway Station.

……

Jincheng Long,

thank you for every time you stepped forward!

Salute and farewell!
