Navy "Silk Road Ark" Hospital Ship Arrives in Papua New Guinea

On the morning of April 8 local time,

the Navy hospital ship "Silk Road Ark"

arrived at Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea,

beginning a 7-day friendly visit

and providing medical services.

At around 10 a.m.,

the atmosphere at the Port Moresby dock

was warm and enthusiastic.

Military and political officials from Papua New Guinea,

staff from the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea,

local residents, overseas Chinese,

and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions

gathered at the dock

to warmly welcome the arrival of the "Silk Road Ark" hospital ship.

After the welcoming ceremony,

the medical team went to

the Port Moresby General Hospital and other medical institutions

to conduct surveys and set up operations

and transported some patients needing surgery on board

to implement surgical treatment as needed based on their conditions.

During the visit,

the mission commander will pay a courtesy visit

to military and political officials from Papua New Guinea.

The mission personnel will engage in a friendly basketball match with the Papua New Guinea Defense Force,

conduct physical examinations for new recruits of the Papua New Guinea Defense Force,

visit the China-PNG Friendship School, Butuka Academy,

and donate stationery supplies,

visit the Basrisc Navy Base,

hold a deck reception,

and go to the medical school of the University of Papua New Guinea

to conduct academic exchanges in medicine.
