3日，载有马杜罗及其妻子的飞机降落在纽约州的斯图尔特国民警卫队基地。美国媒体预计，马杜罗下周将在纽约市的一处法院“出庭”。
据此前报道，马姆达尼于1991年出生在乌干达，移民纽约后加入美国国籍，从政后加入美国民主党，当地时间1月1日凌晨，马姆达尼宣誓就任纽约市市长，成为该市100多年来最年轻的市长，同时也是纽约市首位穆斯林市长。
