On-Site Coverage: Israeli Army Continues Attacks in Multiple Areas of Lebanon, Resulting in Over 200 Deaths

From the evening of the 5th to the daytime of the 6th, Israel launched a series of intense airstrikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health's emergency action center announced on the 6th that since the early morning of March 2nd until the evening of the 6th, Israeli attacks have resulted in 217 deaths and 798 injuries in Lebanon.

About eight hours before the attacks, Israel issued unprecedented evacuation warnings for almost the entire area, leading to hundreds of thousands fleeing the region.

On the 6th, Israel also carried out dozens of airstrikes in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces conducted an airstrike on an apartment in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon, resulting in 5 deaths and multiple injuries.

Matthieu Luciano, head of the International Organization for Migration's office in Lebanon, stated that the organization has recently observed a significant cross-border movement of people. The United Nations stated on the 6th that due to Lebanon's involvement in regional conflicts with Israel and Iran, approximately 50,000 Syrians have returned home from Lebanon in the past week.

Israeli Defense Minister Katz stated that the Israeli military has strengthened its forces within Lebanon and significantly expanded its deployments in other areas.

In response, Hezbollah issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attacks on northern Israel, the Golan Heights, and the Haifa naval base. Around 4 a.m. on the 6th, Hezbollah posted a message in Hebrew on its social media account, warning residents of the northern border villages to evacuate all settlements within 5 kilometers of the border.

Lebanese President calls for international intervention to stop Israeli attacks

On the 6th local time, Lebanese President Aoun continued diplomatic contacts with regional and international leaders, seeking assistance from friendly countries and allies to curb Israel's ongoing attacks on Lebanon. A statement from the Lebanese presidential office stated that the Israeli military's attack targets included multiple locations in Lebanon, resulting in numerous casualties and thousands of residents displaced.
