Xinhua News Agency, Ashgabat, October 9 (Reporter Zheng Yu) According to reports from Russian media on the 8th, Russian President Putin met with Iranian President Raisi on the evening of the 8th in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, to discuss the relationship between the two countries and the situation in the Middle East. Putin expressed his willingness to assist Iran in promoting conflict resolution.

Putin stated that based on the comprehensive strategic partnership treaty signed by the two countries at the beginning of last year, the relationship is developing positively, with trade volume continuing to grow and cultural exchanges being active. He mentioned that the situation in the Middle East is the most pressing issue at present, and Russia understands that Iran is making genuine efforts to end regional conflicts. Russia will do everything possible to assist Iran in promoting conflict resolution.

Raisi thanked Putin and Russia for their support of Iran, pointing out that Iran aims to end the war as soon as possible, but it is crucial to maintain rights. If the United States insists on pursuing unilateralism, it will lead to the war not being resolved in the short term.

According to reports from the Iranian Tasnim News Agency on the 8th, Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian stated that Iran and the United States are still continuing indirect negotiations through mediators, "Iran has proposed its own plan, known as the 'seven-day plan,' while also listening to the U.S. side's responses."
