Recently, a fleet composed of multiple vessels including the Chinese Coast Guard ship Wanshan, Dahao, and Haiao conducted patrol law enforcement in the waters around Huangyan Island.

Reporter from CCTV, Wu Bing: The Chinese Coast Guard ship Wanshan, where I am located, is currently less than 3 nautical miles from Huangyan Island. This patrol law enforcement will carry out regular law enforcement inspections in the territorial waters of Huangyan Island and the surrounding sea areas in the coming time, and will conduct fleet navigation, blockadecontrol and other exercises. At the same time, the patrol fleet will also manage and drive away foreign vessels attempting to illegally enter the waters near Huangyan Island.

Coast Guard Wanshan law enforcement officer, Qiu Canhui: We are implementing continuous regular patrols in the territorial waters of Huangyan Island and the surrounding sea areas, while also strengthening aerial reconnaissance with drones to ensure that the situation is perceived in real-time and addressed promptly.

Currently, it is the fishing season in the South China Sea. The reporter observed that the law enforcement officers of the patrol fleet are also conducting fishery law enforcement inspections and legal publicity for the fishing boats operating in the nearby waters.

During this voyage, the Wanshan fleet also conducted law enforcement control drills, focusing on exercises such as boarding and capturing, blocking breaches, and forced towing, effectively testing rapid response and emergency handling capabilities.
