Russia-Ukraine Exchange of 1,000 Captured Soldiers
Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, March 6 (Reporter Geng Huifang) - Russia and Ukraine exchanged 1,000 captured soldiers from March 5 to 6, with each side handing over 500 individuals to the other.
According to a message released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on social media on the 6th, the 500 Russian military personnel are currently receiving medical treatment and psychological counseling in Belarus, and will be sent back to Russia afterward.
On the 5th, Russian presidential assistant and head of the Russian negotiation delegation, Mezhinsky, announced on social media that, based on the results of negotiations reached in Geneva, Russia exchanged prisoners of war with Ukraine from March 5 to 6, with 500 exchanged for 500.
The Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War stated on social media on the 5th that, according to the prisoner exchange agreement reached in Geneva, Russia released 200 Ukrainian military personnel on the 5th. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated on social media on the 6th that on that day, 300 Ukrainian military personnel and 2 civilians returned to Ukraine.
