On October 2, local time, Russia's "Center-2026" strategic exercise concluded in Chelyabinsk, Russia. This strategic exercise involved the formation of a joint combat group with participating troops from 8 countries, including China and Russia, conducting joint land and air operations under the same exercise scenario, fully demonstrating the excellent military quality and tenacious combat style of the participating personnel, and showcasing the capability of multiple countries to maintain regional peace and stability.
On the 2nd, Russian President Putin visited the Chebarkul training ground in Chelyabinsk Oblast to observe the final phase of the "Center-2026" strategic exercise live-fire drills. In his speech, Putin pointed out that the exercise helps to respond more effectively to external security threats.
According to the Kremlin website, the exercise involved more than 47,000 troops, executing tasks at 11 training grounds and in the Caspian Sea, and was conducted in coordination with the CSTO "Cooperation-2026" command and staff exercise. The exercise aimed to enhance the command capabilities of troops in countering external aggression, practically applying new weapons and equipment, with all tasks drawing on experiences from special military operations.

In this exercise, the Chinese participating forces were composed of the Central Theater Command, the 82nd Group Army of the Central Theater Command, and a certain combined brigade. After completing the exercise tasks, the Chinese participating troops began to withdraw from the Chebarkul training ground. The withdrawing troops will use air and rail transport to gradually return to their home country for reorganization.

During the exercise, our participating troops worked alongside forces from Russia, Belarus, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and other countries, consolidating multilateral traditional friendships and enhancing joint operational capabilities through joint training.
This exercise was characterized by high intensity, rapid pace changes, high firepower density, long-range mobility, and strong realism. Our participating troops were organized into multiple groups for assault, fire strikes, engineering support, and information support, adhering to the requirements of field operations, simplicity, and realism, relying on unfamiliar foreign terrain and a multinational collaborative environment to comprehensively test our capabilities in long-range strategic deployment, cross-border logistical support, and joint operational command.
