National Highway 219 runs through the snowy plateau, and every stretch of flat road is guarded by a group of people silently. At the elevation of 5,211 meters at the Mayoumulada Pass, the surrounding area is a no-man's land for two hundred kilometers. Here, fierce winds rage year-round, making it a true "forbidden zone for life." Armed police soldiers fight against the elements on the plateau, clearing snow and ensuring traffic flow, dedicating themselves to safeguarding the smoothness of this snowy road.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, military wife Liu Cuicui traveled 5,279 kilometers with her child, silently heading towards the snowy plateau. She is the first military wife to visit her family with a child since the establishment of the Mayoumula detachment 24 years ago.
