► Terma and Diehl Defence sign agreement on development cooperation for the future

Report Content

Terma, a global organization based in Denmark developing and manufacturing mission-critical products and solutions, has signed an agreement with Diehl Defence, a leading system house for ground-based air defense systems and guided missiles, to collaborate on mutual development initiatives for future products and technologies.

Both companies have worked together on a number of defense projects already for more than ten years, particularly ground-based air defense systems and the associated qualification of guided missiles, combining the expertise of Diehl Defence and the track record of Terma with Command and Control solutions for sea, air, land and joint operations. The expertise of both companies complements each other well and shall focus on the development of new and innovative solutions.

“Diehl Defence has been a trusted partner to Terma for more than a decade, and we are proud to build on that strong foundation through this agreement. The evolving security environment calls for closer cooperation between leading European defense companies, and by combining our respective strengths, we can accelerate the development of innovative capabilities that support the operational needs of our customers” says Thomas Flarup CCO of Terma and ads:

“This agreement reflects our shared ambition to contribute to a stronger European defense industrial base and to explore new opportunities in areas where our technologies and expertise are highly complementary.”

Dr. Harald Buschek, CPO of Diehl Defence, said: “Based on our common track record and the technological synergies, Diehl Defence and Terma will investigate and evaluate the potential for further joint activities. Details on this will be subject to studies in the near future and will cover market segments such as space activities, C-UAS systems, applications of air defense systems and the collaboration for various programmes that were initiated by the European Union.”

In addition to product-related objectives for mutual benefits, the cooperation with Terma is also underlining Diehl Defence’s long-term commitment to Denmark, both to the Danish customer, who acquired IRIS-T SLM in 2025, and to the high tech Danish Defence Industry. This cooperation will further support internationalization strategies by both companies outside of Denmark and Germany.

The signing ceremony took place on the occasion of the ongoing ILA Berlin Airshow 2026.
