Xinhua News Agency, Nairobi, May 3 (Wang Shuai, Yang Shiwei) - Juba reports: During the International Labor Day holiday, all officers and soldiers of the 12th Chinese peacekeeping infantry battalion in South Sudan (Juba) remained steadfast at their posts, ready for combat, faithfully fulfilling their peacekeeping mission.

In response to the complex and severe security situation in the mission area, the battalion organized emergency defense drills in the camp according to real combat standards. The drills were conducted without a script and with random guidance, focusing on rapid response to emergencies and three-dimensional vigilance around the camp, comprehensively testing and enhancing the officers and soldiers' emergency response and joint combat capabilities.

During the holiday, the battalion dispatched over 100 officers and soldiers daily to rotate in carrying out 24-hour uninterrupted vigilance duties at 15 UN camp posts. Patrol teams conducted round-the-clock, full-coverage patrols in the buffer zone, fully committed to safeguarding the safety of the camp and the local population. They exemplified the responsibility and commitment of Chinese soldiers through their actions, contributing Chinese strength to the peace and stability of the mission area.
