The China Coast Guard will host the 22nd Senior Officials Meeting of Coastal Guard Agencies in the Asia Region in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.

Liudejun, spokesperson for the China Coast Guard, stated that the high-level meeting of coast guard agencies in the Asia region has developed over more than twenty years, with members covering East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and some extraterritorial countries. The mechanism's structure has become increasingly refined, and the areas of cooperation continue to expand. The 22nd high-level meeting of coast guard agencies in the Asia region is about to open. During this meeting, all parties will engage in in-depth discussions at a high level regarding the current complex and changing regional maritime security situation, focusing on challenges in non-traditional maritime areas, exploring effective paths to mitigate risks, manage crises, and promote cooperation, and jointly maintain regional maritime peace and stability. The China Coast Guard has transitioned from hosting the North Pacific region coast guard law enforcement agencies forum last year to hosting the high-level meeting of coast guard agencies in the Asia region for the first time this year, moving from "North Pacific+" to "Asia-Pacific+", from a gathering of six countries offline to a multilateral discussion among countries in the broader Asia-Pacific region, continuously promoting the concept of a global maritime community with a shared future and the global security initiative, to build consensus and gather strength for regional maritime security governance.
