On October 21, Xinhua News Agency reported from Moscow (Reporter Huang He) that Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova stated on the 21st that the Japan-U.S. "Sword 27" joint military exercise poses a security risk to Russia's Far East border region, and Russia will take responsive measures.

Zakharova said at a regular press conference that the aforementioned military exercise has exceeded the principle of "defensive only" and is part of Japan's "re-militarization" policy. The Russian side has repeatedly expressed serious concerns to the Japanese side. She stated that the Japanese side's actions pose a security risk to Russia's Far East border region.

Zakharova also commented on the delivery of drones by Japanese companies to Ukraine, stating that this action by the Japanese side is an overt hostile act, and Russia will take strong retaliatory measures.

She emphasized that the Russian side has repeatedly warned the Japanese side that such behavior is unacceptable and will have a negative impact on Russia-Japan relations. The Japanese side's attempt to explain the cooperation between its companies and the Ukrainian military as a "private action" is "completely unconvincing."

Zakharova reiterated that weapons that pose a threat to Russia's national security, as well as facilities established within Ukraine for the production of these weapons, are legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces.
