"Three Times the Usual Number"! U.S. Media: Satellite Images Show Over 60 U.S. Attack Aircraft Stationed at a Base in Jordan

The "New York Times" states that this base has become a key hub for the U.S. to plan potential strikes against Iran.

The "New York Times" reports that images taken on the 20th show more than 60 attack aircraft parked at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, approximately three times the usual number of stationed fighter jets. Flight tracking data indicates that at least 68 transport aircraft have landed at the base since the 15th. More fighter jets may be parked in shelters.

The report states that satellite images also show more advanced fighter jets at the base compared to the usual types, including F-35 stealth fighters. The images also reveal several drones and helicopters. Additionally, soldiers have installed new air defense systems to prevent missile attacks on the base from Iran.

The report cites anonymous Jordanian officials stating that the deployment of U.S. aircraft and equipment here is part of a defense agreement between the two countries.

The "New York Times" states that the change in the situation at the Jordan base is part of a large-scale military buildup by the U.S. throughout the region. It is understood that the U.S. has currently deployed an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, with a second carrier strike group being deployed. Reports indicate that the U.S. military has also deployed more than a dozen other types of warships, hundreds of fighter jets, and multiple air defense systems in the Middle East, and has utilized over 150 military transport flights to transport weapons and ammunition to the region. U.S. President Trump confirmed to the media on the 20th, before a working breakfast with governors from various states at the White House, that he is considering a "preliminary limited military strike" against Iran to compel Iran to accept U.S. demands regarding the nuclear agreement.

On the other hand, against the backdrop of the U.S. continuously escalating military threats against Iran, Iranian armed forces conducted live-fire exercises in the Strait of Hormuz from the 16th to the 17th. According to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency on the 19th, the joint naval exercises between the Iranian Navy and the Russian Navy have concluded, and Russian warships have left the exercise area. The report states that the joint exercises aim to strengthen bilateral cooperation, enhance maritime security, and improve the operational coordination capabilities of the two navies. Additionally, Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif stated in an interview with U.S. media on the 20th that Iran will complete the drafting of the nuclear agreement proposal within 2 to 3 days and will submit it to the U.S. after obtaining final approval from Iranian leaders.
