Trump says he will not lift sanctions on Iran before reaching an "agreement"
On April 20 local time, U.S. President Trump stated on social media that he would never lift the blockade (against Iran) until a "deal" is reached.
Since the 13th, the U.S. military has implemented a blockade on ships entering and leaving Iranian ports. The U.S. Central Command stated on the 14th that it has "completely cut off Iran's maritime import and export economic trade." On the 17th, Iran announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial vessels, but on the 18th, it declared that, given the U.S. had not lifted the maritime blockade against Iran, it would resume control over the passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
