Trump says it may soon strike Iran's "Mount Hossain" nuclear facility.
On July 21, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington (reporters Huang Qiang and Xu Jianmei) that U.S. President Trump said to the media during a meeting with visiting Lebanese President Aoun at the White House that the U.S. "may soon" strike Iran's "Mountain" underground nuclear facility.
When asked whether Iran has moved centrifuges to the "Mountain" tunnel complex, Trump said, "I think they may have done that, but we do not have definitive records." He also stated that unless Iran possesses nuclear material, having facilities is meaningless. "What we are tracking is the material, that is the key," he said, "We may soon carry out strikes in the region, and they will be very strong."
Trump mentioned that Iran is "eager to meet," but "we have no interest in even talking until they are ready for a substantive meeting."
The "Mountain" is located near the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan Province, central Iran, and is considered one of Iran's most fortified underground nuclear facilities.
