Ukrainian Army's "Flamingo" Attacks Russian Intercontinental Missile Factory, Russian Army on Alert

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on February 21 that overnight, the Ukrainian military launched an attack on a military factory in the city of Votkinsk, Udmurt Republic, Russia, using multiple "Flamingo" cruise missiles.

According to information released by the Ukrainian military, this military factory in Votkinsk, Udmurt Republic, Russia, produces "Yars" intercontinental missiles, "Bulava" submarine-launched intercontinental missiles, and "Iskander-M" tactical missiles. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine claims that this cruise missile attack caused the military factory to "catch fire."

Military commentator Wei Dongxu believes that this is a long-range fire strike operation by the Ukrainian military against high-value targets deep in Russia. Whether the "results" are true remains to be seen. The reason for using the "Flamingo" is that this cruise missile has a range of 3,000 kilometers and can carry a 1,000-kilogram warhead, which, upon hitting the target, can cause significant damage to infrastructure.

According to the website of "Russia Today," Russian air defense forces intercepted five "Flamingo" missiles in one day on February 12, with only the wreckage of the cruise missiles falling into military target areas.

Military commentator Wei Dongxu believes that the Ukraine crisis has fully escalated for four years, with both sides continuously updating tactics and methods during combat, applying a large number of new weapons on the battlefield, including cruise missiles. To change the situation of being completely reliant on the U.S. and Europe for advanced cruise missile applications, Ukraine independently developed the "Flamingo" cruise missile and began to equip and use it since last year.
