On June 18, Xinhua News Agency reported from Kyiv (Reporter Li Dongxu) that the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tkachенко, posted on social media early in the morning on the 18th, stating that the Russian military is launching a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv, reminding citizens to seek shelter in safe places until the air raid alert is lifted.

Between 1:25 and 1:27 AM that day, Xinhua reporters in Kyiv heard air raid sirens and multiple strong explosions.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force had issued an air raid warning on social media, stating that Ukraine is facing a threat of ballistic missile attacks. Subsequently, the Ukrainian Air Force continued to issue warning messages, stating that Russian missiles are approaching the direction of Kyiv.
