Ukrainian military claims to adhere to wartime practices by only targeting military facilities

Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, May 22 (Reporter Li Dongxu) - The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated on social media on the evening of the 22nd that the Ukrainian military strictly adheres to international humanitarian law and the laws of war, targeting only military facilities.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that in the early hours of the 22nd, the Ukrainian military launched attacks on multiple targets, including Russian oil refineries, ammunition depots, and the headquarters of the Russian "Rubicon" drone unit located in old Belisk, Luhansk region.

On the 22nd, Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova stated on social media that in the early hours of the day, the Ukrainian military used drones to attack the teaching building and student dormitory of a school in the Luhansk region, with 86 teenagers aged between 14 and 18 inside the building at the time of the attack. Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, spoke at an emergency public meeting of the Security Council on the Ukraine issue that day, stating that the attack resulted in 6 deaths and 40 injuries.
