Ukrainian Side Claims Energy Facilities Attacked, Causing Power Outages in Multiple Areas
On October 20 local time, the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy reported that the Russian military launched attacks on the energy infrastructure in seven regions: Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Odesa, Rivne, Cherkasy, and Khmelnytskyi from early morning until the morning hours, resulting in power outages for some users. Power supply has been partially restored, and emergency repairs are still ongoing.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy stated that the Russian side continues to carry out systematic and targeted attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities, and the power supply situation in frontline and border areas remains severe. Due to attacks on facilities, frequent air raid alerts, and the risk of further attacks, repair work has been hindered, and the operation of power grids in many areas is restricted. The Ministry continues to implement planned power cuts to maintain the stable operation of the power system.
In response, there has been no comment from the Russian side. (Reporter: Dong Wei, CCTV)
