On October 29 local time, a reporter from the Central Station learned that General Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command, reported to President Trump at the White House on military action options against Iran. U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley also participated in the meeting.

It is reported that this meeting comes as the Trump administration assesses whether to resume large-scale military operations against Iran. U.S. officials have recently signaled to some Gulf countries to prepare for a potential short-term, high-intensity military operation that may occur after the midterm elections. Meanwhile, the U.S. side is also continuing to promote diplomatic contacts.

In addition, the Pentagon has recently increased the deployment of air defense systems, ammunition, and other supplies to the Middle East, and adjusted some troop deployments. Trump has not yet made a final decision on a new round of military actions against Iran. (Reporter Zhang Yingzhe from Central Station)
