U.S. Media: The Second Round of Talks Between Israel and Lebanon Will Be Held in the U.S. on the 23rd
On April 21, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington (reporters Huang Qiang and Xu Jianmei) that the second round of ambassador-level talks between Israel and Lebanon will be held on the 23rd of this month at the U.S. State Department.
The report cited U.S. State Department officials as saying that U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee will participate as a new member of the U.S. delegation in these talks. Secretary of State Rubio, U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michelle Issa, and State Department advisor Michael Needham will again attend the talks. Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Mike Herzog and Lebanese Ambassador to the U.S. Nada Hamadeh Mouawad will again lead their respective delegations.
Previously, the three parties held ambassador-level talks at the U.S. State Department on the 14th. After the talks concluded, Israel and Lebanon officially began a 10-day ceasefire at 5 a.m. Beijing time on the 17th.
