On February 23 local time, the U.S. Southern Command stated that the "Southern Strike" joint task force conducted a strike against a vessel identified as being operated by a terrorist organization.
The U.S. military reported that intelligence confirmed the vessel was navigating along known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean and was involved in drug trafficking activities.
