U.S. Military Claims to Launch Strikes Against Iran Again

On July 8, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington (reporters Huang Qiang and Xu Jianmei) that the U.S. Central Command announced on social media that the U.S. military carried out additional strikes against Iran that day to further weaken Iran's ability to threaten navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. This marks the second consecutive day that the U.S. military has launched military strikes against Iran in response to recent Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command stated that Iran has carried out "unprovoked attacks" on commercial vessels navigating this important international waterway, and the United States is holding it accountable.

Earlier that day, U.S. President Trump, while attending a NATO summit in Turkey, expressed his displeasure with Iran, stating that the U.S. military "might" strike Iran hard again that night and may also reinstate a maritime blockade against Iran.

According to reports from several media outlets, including the Iranian Nour News Agency, explosions were heard late at night on the 8th local time near Sirik, Abbas Port, and Chabahar Port in Iran.

The U.S. Central Command reported on the 7th that the U.S. military struck Iran that day, hitting over 80 targets, including Iran's air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 small boats of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
