Xinhua News Agency, Washington, September 17 - According to a report by ABC News on the 17th, an F-16 fighter jet from the Texas Air National Guard crashed in Michigan on the afternoon of the same day, and the pilot ejected and escaped. Due to a hazardous chemical leak, surrounding personnel were temporarily evacuated.

The report cited a statement from the Texas Military Department, which said that the fighter jet had taken off from a nearby training center to conduct a routine training mission, and then "an accident occurred." The pilot successfully ejected and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Local authorities stated that the aircraft crashed around 2 PM Eastern Time.

The Michigan State Police indicated that the accident did not result in injuries to other individuals. However, due to the "hazardous chemical leak associated with the aircraft crash," residents and businesses within a 1-mile (approximately 1.6 kilometers) radius of the crash site were asked to evacuate. The evacuation order was lifted around 9:45 PM the same day.

An American official stated that all aircraft from the Texas Air National Guard involved in the training have been immediately grounded.
