U.S. Secretary of State Issues Threat to Iran Regarding the Strait of Hormuz
Xinhua News Agency, Doha, March 30 (Reporter Wang Qiang) - U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated in an interview aired on Al Jazeera on the 30th that if Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz after the war, it will "face serious consequences."
Rubio said that once U.S. military operations in Iran conclude, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened regardless, "either through the resumption of navigation with Iran's agreement or through an international military coalition, including the United States, to achieve the reopening."
Rubio emphasized that the goals of U.S. military operations in Iran are very clear, "to be achieved in weeks, not months." He also stated that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
