Video: Navy's 49th Escort Task Force Conducts Anti-Terrorism and Anti-Piracy Drills

Recently, the Navy's 49th Escort Task Force's Kunming ship organized anti-terrorism, anti-piracy, and armed rescue operation drills in a certain sea area of the Gulf of Aden, further enhancing the ship's ability to perform diverse tasks and emergency response capabilities.

At the start of the drill, after identifying the target, the Kunming ship immediately transitioned to a level one anti-terrorism and anti-piracy deployment. Upon arriving at the incident sea area, the commander quickly issued orders, and the deck firepower team used heavy machine guns to conduct warning shots at the suspicious small boats.

Navy's 49th Escort Task Force Li Jian Zhen: Based on the actual characteristics of maritime targets being distant, small, and highly mobile, we successively carried out targeted training such as target tracking and long-range shooting, flexibly switching shooting positions according to the scenario, maintaining continuous and stable firing within the required range, effectively implementing warning and deterrence, and achieving the expected training objectives.

After completing the shooting drill, the Kunming ship promptly adjusted its position and transitioned to the armed rescue operation deployment, preparing to conduct blocking fire with the main gun.

Navy's Kunming ship Gui Binbin: In previous main gun shooting training, the requirement was to directly hit the target, while in blocking fire training, the requirement is for the impact point to be a certain distance in front of the target, achieving the expected effect of deterrence and stopping the hijacked "merchant ship," which is more aligned with the actual needs of escort missions. This raises higher demands for our training mindset shift and the close cooperation of operators at various combat positions.

After intercepting the hijacked "merchant ship," the special operations team quickly approached the target using a small boat and then boarded the ship to conduct a search. In the narrow compartments, the special operations team employed various tactical maneuvers and close coordination, successfully controlling the "merchant ship" and rescuing the crew. This anti-terrorism and anti-piracy drill closely aligned with the actual mission and the surrounding maritime situation, effectively honing the ship's rapid maneuvering, blocking fire, and search and capture capabilities, and significantly improving the coordination level of various task teams.

Navy's 49th Escort Task Force Wang Chi: In this drill, we adopted a modular training and team coordination approach, focusing on actual weapon use and team coordination training, effectively testing the ship's anti-terrorism, anti-piracy, and armed rescue capabilities, and strengthening the command process, laying a solid foundation for completing various escort tasks.
