It serves as both a sword for attack and a shield for defense. It can conduct long-range strikes against the enemy while also safeguarding the safety of our fleet during defense.
The 052D-class destroyer is the first type of ship in the People's Navy equipped with a new 130mm rapid-fire naval gun, and it is the first to adopt a system that combines close-in weapon systems with terminal interception missiles, greatly enhancing its terminal air defense and missile defense capabilities. It is also the first operational vessel in the People's Navy to use a universal vertical launch system that accommodates both hot and cold launch missiles, capable of carrying up to 64 types of munitions, including air defense, anti-ship, land-attack missiles, and rocket-assisted torpedoes for anti-submarine warfare. This endows the 052D with multi-domain, all-around strike capabilities, pushing the operational mode and equipment construction of the People's Navy surface vessels into a new stage, and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent development of main battle vessels, especially the weapon systems of the 055-class "10,000-ton destroyer."
