Between the sea and sky, there is a type of vessel known as the "mobile granary" and "energy source" of the aircraft carrier strike group, constantly injecting a steady stream of combat power into the distant sea "sword." For example, the People's Navy's latest 901-type comprehensive supply ship, the Chagan Lake; and the ocean-going comprehensive supply ship, the Qinghai Lake, hull number 885.

Before the commissioning of the 901 type, the Qinghai Lake was the largest supply ship in terms of tonnage in our navy, known as the "big guy" among supply ships, providing valuable experience for the design and construction of our large comprehensive supply ships.

The massive hull of the Qinghai Lake is striking, capable of carrying tens of thousands of tons of fuel and other supplies, primarily providing fuel and fresh water, and is also equipped with a helicopter hangar for vertical replenishment.

In the context of information warfare, maritime local wars are battles of attrition, technology, and speed. The effectiveness of logistical support such as fuel supply, ammunition replenishment, and combat casualty care directly determines the outcome of the war.

The strength of maritime supply capability is a key factor in generating the combat power of warships. After accumulating experiences from the Qinghai Lake and others, our country has successively built multiple types of comprehensive supply ships, significantly enhancing the People's Navy's ocean-going comprehensive operational support capability.

The 901-type large comprehensive supply ship, Chagan Lake, is a dedicated fast supply ship for operational replenishment accompanying aircraft carrier strike groups.

It can carry tens of thousands of tons of ammunition, food, and various fuels;

It has the capability for lateral, longitudinal, vertical, alongside, and nighttime replenishment;

It can increase the endurance of an aircraft carrier strike group by nearly 10,000 nautical miles, significantly enhancing self-sufficiency.

It can be said to be the culmination of our years of research, development, construction, and use of supply ships.
