Yemeni Government Forces: 356 Strikes Against Houthi Militants in the Last 24 Hours
Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, September 28 (Reporter Yin Zhao) Aden news: The spokesperson for the Yemeni government forces, Majid Nuzaili, stated on social media on the 28th that in the past 24 hours, government forces have carried out 356 "precision strikes" against the Houthi armed forces on multiple fronts.
Nuzaili said in the statement that the strikes covered multiple fronts in Lahij Province, Taiz Province, and others, utilizing various weapons to destroy or damage Houthi command and control centers, weapon depots, field artillery, and military vehicles. According to frontline data, the operations resulted in 476 Houthi casualties.
A Yemeni government military source told Xinhua on the same day that the Houthi armed forces launched an attack on the mountainous positions in Lahij Province, controlled by government forces, early in the morning of the 28th, temporarily occupying several positions. Government forces then mobilized reinforcements to launch a counterattack, and after fierce fighting, "successfully repelled them from the positions they had previously occupied," killing 28 Houthi fighters and injuring several others. He stated that local Houthi positions, troop gathering sites, and military vehicles also suffered multiple airstrikes.
A Houthi military source, who wished to remain anonymous, told Xinhua that the organization killed 16 government soldiers and injured several others in the fighting in Lahij Province on the same day, stating, "Despite the heavy airstrikes, we are still advancing." According to him, the Houthi armed forces still control the positions they seized earlier that day.
Recently, the Houthi armed forces have intensified their offensive against government forces and announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, which supports the Yemeni government. The Houthis have captured strategic locations such as the port city of Mocha and Perlin Island. The Yemeni government stated on the 11th that the Houthi armed forces have taken control of the entire western coast of the country and have pushed their offensive into the southern Lahij Province.
