Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 12 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: According to the Yemeni government-controlled Saba News Agency, the spokesperson for the Yemeni government forces, Majid Nuzaili, stated on the 12th that the government forces have killed approximately 950 Houthi militants in military operations over the past 24 hours.

The statement said that as part of the "Yemen Dawn" operation, the government forces have carried out 1,879 strikes on Houthi military targets. In the past 24 hours, in addition to inflicting heavy casualties on Houthi militants, the government forces also destroyed about 380 military vehicles, while suppressing Houthi fire points and disrupting their command, control, and supply systems. Airstrikes by government forces in Taiz province severely impacted Houthi reinforcements heading to the front lines and thwarted their attempts to regroup.

An anonymous source from the Yemeni government forces told Xinhua reporters on the evening of the 12th that the Houthis launched a large-scale attack from multiple directions near the main entrance southwest of Taiz city, the capital of Taiz province, on the same day. Intense fighting broke out between the two sides starting early that morning, and as of that evening, the battle was still ongoing, resulting in dozens of casualties on both sides. The government forces prevented the Houthi advance.

On October 5, Rashad Alimi, chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, announced the launch of the "Yemen Dawn" operation to restore the functioning of national institutions, liberate the capital Sana'a, and end the Houthi insurgency.
