Yemen's Houthi Forces Claim 6 Attacks on Targets Inside Saudi Arabia in the Past 48 Hours
Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 19 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: The Yemeni Houthi armed group stated on the 19th that within the past 48 hours, the organization launched six military strikes using a large number of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones against oil facilities, aviation facilities, and military targets within Saudi Arabia.
Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree made a televised statement through the group's controlled Masirah TV, saying that the first operation consisted of two rounds of attacks on the Saudi Aramco facilities in the western port city of Yanbu, hitting the targets and causing large-scale fires.
The second operation targeted the Shabwah oil field in eastern Saudi Arabia, directly hitting the target and causing a fire. The third operation consisted of three rounds of attacks on King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, also hitting the designated targets.
He also stated that the fourth operation consisted of three rounds of attacks on Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia, radar facilities located on Mount Haysen and Mount Rahma, as well as King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushait in southwestern Saudi Arabia, which disrupted airport flight operations and caused damage to the air base facilities.
The fifth operation targeted a naval task force camp in Saudi Arabia, resulting in casualties among Saudi forces. The sixth operation destroyed a radar facility in the Najran region of southern Saudi Arabia.
Saree stated that the aforementioned six military actions were a response to over 200 airstrikes and missile attacks launched by Saudi Arabia against the Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen within the past 48 hours, which resulted in dozens of Yemeni casualties, most of whom were women and children. Since the escalation of this round of conflict, Saudi Arabia has conducted more than 2,700 airstrikes and missile attacks.
Saree indicated that the Houthi armed group will continue to attack targets within Saudi Arabia and "Saudi military assembly areas" within Yemen until Saudi Arabia stops its "military actions against Yemen" and lifts the blockade on Houthi-controlled areas.
Recently, the intensity of mutual attacks between Saudi Arabia and the Houthi armed group has increased. At the same time, clashes between the Houthi armed group and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces have also intensified on multiple fronts.
