Zelensky Suggests Willingness to Engage in Dialogue with Israel on Military Cooperation

Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, March 30 (Reporter Feng Guorui, Wang Zhuolun) According to Israeli media reports on the 30th, Ukrainian President Zelensky hinted that Ukraine is willing to engage in dialogue with Israel regarding military cooperation.

During an interview with a reporter from Israel's Channel 12 on the same day, Zelensky stated that his contact with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has been very limited over the past two years, as the latter hopes to maintain a balance between Russia and Ukraine.

Israeli media reported that the last meeting between Zelensky and Netanyahu was in 2023 at the United Nations headquarters, after which the two sides have only occasionally communicated by phone.

The report stated that Zelensky intends to broaden bilateral dialogue, saying, "We have what he needs, and he has what we need... We are ready to engage in such dialogue." The report pointed out that this statement clearly refers to military cooperation.

Recently, Ukraine has sent military personnel to countries such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, utilizing its experience in dealing with drones to assist these countries in intercepting Iranian drones. After returning from a visit to the Middle East on the 30th, Zelensky stated that Ukraine has reached security agreements with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar. According to Israeli media, Israel has not yet made a request for assistance to Ukraine regarding drone countermeasures.
