Xinhua News Agency, Sanya, September 9 (Yang Xiaomin, Wang Lifei) The China-Singapore "Maritime Cooperation-2026" joint exercise completed all scheduled training tasks on the 9th, and the vessels of both sides held a separation ceremony.

The five-day exercise was divided into two phases: port exchange and maritime exercises. During the port exchange phase, the navies of the two countries held high-level meetings and planning discussions, organized ship tours, deck receptions, and other activities. In the maritime exercise phase, the participating forces from both sides coordinated effectively, completing a total of eight training tasks including communication drills, formation maneuvers and aerial photography, maritime supply positioning, and joint search and rescue, which tested the levels of coordinated maneuvering, support, and strike capabilities of the mixed fleet.

This is the fifth joint maritime exercise held by China and Singapore. The regularized and institutionalized joint exercises provide a platform for the naval personnel of both countries to progress from understanding to familiarity, and from awareness to mutual trust, enhancing their ability to jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
