On May 20 local time, the Colombian guerrilla group "National Liberation Army" (ELN) announced a unilateral ceasefire during the Colombian presidential election and stated that it would not interfere with the electoral process.
The organization stated in its announcement that its national leadership has instructed all armed personnel "not to carry out offensive military actions against government armed forces." The ceasefire will begin at midnight on May 30 and end at midnight on June 2.
