On April 9 local time, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Aviv Kochavi, stated that the Israel Defense Forces are in a state of war and have not ceased fire. The IDF will continue operations within Lebanese territory, which is the primary area of their military engagement. He also indicated that Israel is in a ceasefire state with Iran, but the IDF can resume combat there at any time in a powerful manner.
Kochavi noted that the pre-war Iran no longer exists, and it has become significantly weaker. The blows suffered by Iran have also impacted Hezbollah in Lebanon, as Hezbollah has been isolated within Lebanese territory, and its connections to strategic backers (those providing funding and weapons) have been severed.
