Japanese Citizens Gather to Oppose U.S. Military Base Construction and Constitutional Amendments for Military Expansion
在近期日本政治不断向右转的背景下，27日，来自日本东京、冲绳等地的民众在东京集会，反对驻日美军边野古基地建设，反对日本修宪扩军动向。
当天，与会者呼吁停止位于冲绳县名护市的驻日美军边野古基地建设计划，并指出，驻日美军设施高度集中，给当地社会与环境带来沉重负担。而且，在当前美日安保体制强化的背景下，进一步提升冲绳在军事战略中的前沿地位，令人担忧。
集会演讲人 奥间政则：随着高市政权的成立，日本面向战争的准备确实已经开始了。如果我们市民不真正发声，就什么问题都解决不了。这种危机感正在不断加剧，冲绳真的可能被当作战场，这是非常可怕的事情。所以我们不能放弃，必须持续发声，我认为这非常重要。
此外，围绕日本修宪与扩军的讨论也成为集会的重要议题。与会者表示，日本战后长期坚持以和平宪法为基础的发展道路，而当前围绕修宪、扩军的政治动向，实在值得警惕。
日本市民团体代表 加藤宜子：冲绳民众表示“冲绳不需要基地”，再加上这是对自然环境的严重破坏，这些问题都很突出，我们还是希望建设一个没有战争的社会。
集会参加者：事实证明，武力绝对无法守护和平，这是历史已经反复证明的。日本战后以来没有卷入战火，我认为正是因为坚持了和平宪法和平理念。在我看来如果坚持和平宪法发生改变，就是把国家从和平引向战争的第一步，因此我们决心必须抵制这种趋势。
