海军第48、49批护航编队组织任务交接
Recently, the 48th and 49th naval escort task forces
held a handover ceremony for escort missions
at our support base in Djibouti
marking the official transition of the 49th task force
to take over the escort duties in the Gulf of Aden and Somali waters
On September 5 local time
the two task forces held a separation ceremony in a certain area of the Gulf of Aden
the formation was organized into two columns cutting through the waves
leaving shining trails on the deep blue sea

The 48th task force displayed
the signal flags “LBT” (Wishing you excellent results) and
“LBM”
(Thank you for your care, wishing you and comrades good health)
The 49th task force displayed
the signal flags “LBU” (Wishing you and comrades a smooth journey to your destination)
and “LBS” (Wishing you a safe voyage)
exchanging respect and good wishes


“Task forces 122 and 172, separate!”
As the commander of the 48th task force
issued the separation order
the Tangshan and Kunming ships
each fired three green signal flares
and all ships simultaneously sounded their horns
Subsequently, the two task forces turned left and right
and executed a 90-degree separation
After the handover ceremony
the 48th task force will carry out follow-up missions
while the 49th task force will continue the escort


The personnel involved in the mission unanimously stated
that they will resolutely safeguard the safety of international maritime passages
and maintain regional peace and stability
practicing the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind through concrete actions

the two task forces also organized joint escort and joint patrols
