Recently, the newly commissioned 055-type destroyers, the Dongguan and Anqing, have successively conducted maritime combat training in a certain area of the East China Sea. The simultaneous appearance of these two new 10,000-ton destroyers has instantly attracted widespread attention online. The 055-type destroyer in the exercise serves as a sharp blade for defending maritime territory. What makes it a world-class destroyer? The answer lies in every aspect of its design.

The two newly unveiled 10,000-ton destroyers have significantly improved in terms of vessel performance and weaponry.

Reporter Li Xiaoqi: This is the main gun of the Dongguan. It can be seen that it is taller than my height of 1.65 meters. This 130mm caliber main gun can achieve effective destructive strikes.

Naval Officer of Dongguan: Our main gun has a large caliber, which means greater lethality. It also has a high rate of fire, a large ammunition capacity, and strong stability, allowing it to effectively strike both maritime and land targets.

These vertical launch units, resembling chocolate blocks, total 64 on the forward deck and 48 in the midsection of the hull, making a total of 112 launch units on the entire ship. Their main feature is a large payload capacity, and they can be equipped with various types of missiles, such as air defense and anti-ship missiles, which are launched from here.

Above, we have the well-known "ten thousand rounds gun," which is a key asset for terminal defense. Its main features are a high rate of fire, low cost, and a strong probability of destruction, creating a "barrage" in the air to effectively intercept incoming targets.

Reporter Li Xiaoqi: Next, we will arrive at the flight deck, where we will find it very spacious, which means it can accommodate larger helicopters. Behind me are two large doors, indicating that two helicopters can be carried simultaneously.

Having dual hangars means that the Dongguan can support multiple types of carrier-based aircraft and drones, thereby increasing the variety of missions it can undertake.

Surprisingly, the Dongguan not only has a large deck and hangar, but it also features a gym equipped with treadmills, stationary bikes, and various exercise equipment, helping personnel maintain good physical condition during long sea deployments.
