Boxer

Boxer is a European 8x8 armored vehicle program built around modularity. The vehicle separates the drive module from mission modules, allowing the same base platform to support troop transport, command, ambulance, reconnaissance and other roles. This approach makes Boxer different from older APCs whose mission equipment is more permanently tied to the hull.

Boxer’s appeal is the balance of wheeled mobility, payload capacity and protection. It is heavier and more sophisticated than many legacy APCs, giving operators a protected vehicle that can still move efficiently on road networks and deploy in multiple variants. The modular architecture also reduces the penalty of developing specialized roles across a common fleet.

ARTEC’s structure, involving Rheinmetall and KNDS, supports production and variant development across multiple countries. That industrial base matters because procurement, local assembly and mission-module work can shape adoption as much as battlefield specifications.
