Second-Generation British Harrier
Harrier II modernized the jump-jet concept with a larger wing, better avionics, and improved payload.
The British Aerospace Harrier II was developed as a second-generation V/STOL strike aircraft derived from the AV-8B/Harrier modernization path. It replaced older RAF Harriers with better range, payload, sensors, and weapons integration. The aircraft preserved the short-field expeditionary concept while adapting it to precision-attack requirements.
