Export-oriented Chinese 300 mm MLRS
AR1A was developed by NORINCO as a long-range multiple rocket launcher for autonomous or battery-level fire missions.
The AR1A is part of China's export-oriented family of 300 mm multiple launch rocket systems. Army Recognition describes the system as a NORINCO weapon first publicly presented at IDEX 2009, able to operate by battalion, battery, or individual launcher. This emphasis on autonomy reflects a shift in rocket artillery from simple saturation fire toward networked launchers with onboard support systems and better fire-control integration.
