F-15IA (Israel Advanced)

F-15IA, or Israel Advanced, is the Israeli Advanced Eagle configuration planned under U.S.-Israeli procurement channels. Boeing Israel presents F-15IA and F-15I+ together as the modern, advanced F-15 fleet intended for Israel. Israel's Ministry of Defense announced a 2024 agreement to acquire 25 advanced F-15 aircraft from Boeing for $5.2 billion, while the DSCA notification described a broader possible package including up to 50 F-15IA aircraft and upgrades for 25 existing F-15I aircraft. The program is therefore both a new-build purchase and an upgrade path.

The F-15IA belongs to the Advanced Eagle line rather than the original 1970s F-15 family. Boeing Israel highlights digital fly-by-wire, ADCP II mission computing, upgraded cockpit systems, improved survivability, lower operating cost, longer-range performance, and broad weapons carriage. The DSCA package lists items such as F110-GE-129 engines, APG-82(V)1 AESA radars, LANTIRN navigation pods, launchers, M61 cannons, and GPS/INS equipment. The key point is a high-payload strike fighter updated with modern avionics and sensors.

Operationally, F-15IA addresses Israel's need for a long-range, heavy-payload strike platform that complements stealth aircraft rather than replacing them. The Ministry of Defense linked the acquisition to deepening U.S.-Israeli defense cooperation, and Boeing Israel frames the aircraft as supporting comprehensive mission requirements. The planned F-15I+ upgrade also matters: it keeps the existing Ra'am fleet relevant while new F-15IA aircraft enter service.
