The statement said that the agency received reports that a small boat with six armed personnel approached the cargo ship and exchanged fire with the ship's armed security personnel. After the exchange of fire, the small boat left the scene. The incident occurred in waters approximately 88 nautical miles southwest of Balhaf in Yemen's Shabwa Province.
The statement noted that the incident is still under investigation, and there are currently no reports of casualties or damage to the vessels. The agency also reminded ships navigating in the relevant waters to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
