Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, May 29 (Reporter Yin Zhao) Aden news: A Yemeni military official stated on the 29th that a U.S. MQ-9 "Reaper" drone was shot down and crashed in the northeastern province of Marib, Yemen.

The unnamed officer indicated that the incident occurred in the northwestern region of Marib province. The drone was flying over the province before it was shot down. He also suggested that the downing operation was carried out by the Houthi forces.

Currently, the U.S. side has not commented on the matter, and the Houthi forces have not released details of the operation.

The MQ-9 is a reconnaissance and strike drone that can perform surveillance missions and carry missiles to strike ground targets. The Houthi forces have previously shot down several of this type of drone.
