[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The Japanese government has begun researching the introduction and deployment of unmanned submarines capable of anti-ship attacks. According to a report by Kyodo News on the 27th, the Japanese government envisions introducing unmanned submarines that can carry torpedoes and mines, aiming for long-range and prolonged navigation capabilities. In addition to manned frigates and submarines, these will be used in coordination with unmanned surface vessels equipped with missile launch systems. The report states that this series of actions by Japan may introduce new instability factors to the regional security situation.

“The unmanned combat platforms and various military equipment developed and deployed by Japan pose a security risk to our aircraft carrier formations, and we must remain highly vigilant and take reasonable and moderate countermeasures,” military expert Zhang Junsha said to the Global Times on the 28th. He noted that Japan's series of actions completely contradicts Japan's pacifist constitution and exclusive defense policy, while also violating international documents that Japan recognizes as having legal effect, such as the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation.

“This is a key measure taken by Japan to promote 'remilitarization,' seek a military power status, and create a so-called 'normal country' strategy capable of waging war again. Such actions exacerbate the security risks brought by Japan's new militaristic forces and pose a more severe threat to the regional situation,” Zhang Junsha said.

Data shows that in recent years, Japan's orders for surface-to-air missiles, aircraft, and other weaponry have significantly increased. This clearly indicates that Japan's military-industrial complex has been reactivated. In response, Defense Ministry spokesperson Zhang Xiaogang commented that history serves as a warning. The reactivation and rapid rise of Japan's military-industrial complex will drive Japan to race down the path of 'remilitarization,' ultimately pushing the Japanese people back into the abyss of disaster.
